Josephine Falls – North Queensland
Located about an hour drive south of Cairns in Queensland’s Far North is the picturesque Josephine Falls. Josephine Creek starts as a trickle high on the south-east side of the summit of Bartle Frere ( Queensland highest peak ) and ends as a substantial creek flowing into the Russell River. Approximately 7.5 km from the summit of Bartle Frere the waters of Josephine Creek tumble over granite boulders, forming the picturesque falls.
People have long been drawn to the natural beauty of the falls.Original home to the Noongyanbudda Ngadjon-jii people it is not known whether or how the native owners used Josephine Falls but early European settlers visited and enjoyed this area, and continue to do so today.
Mr Simple was lucky enough to visit the breath taking waterhole on a recent visit to the Sunshine State. It was definitely a good escape from the extreme heat and humidity.
All Good Friend Camera Co.
On a recent trip to Hong Kong Mr Simple visited the ’All Good Friend Camera Co.’ located in the city of Kowloon.
The store is hidden down a dimly lit arcade promising of many smaller shops including a noodle bar and a handful of legitimate second hand luxury watch dealers. An absolute mecca of second hand and vintage film cameras these shops are filled to the brim and literally overflowing with a hoard of photographic apparatus of years past. Seen here are some of the incredible pieces on offer at the ‘all good friend camera co.’

L’usine Saigon
If you find yourself in Saigon as Mr Simple recently did, make sure you search out L’usine store and cafe in Dist 1. To get there you’ll duck through a little arcade and up some stairs feeling like you’ve found a hidden gem. Have a look through the selection of international labels including the latest Mr Simple. If you need to refuel I recommend ordering a Vietnamese style pork roll, fresh juice and coffee to get you back on track and you can check back in with the world with the free wifi. The store/cafe/gallery has taken its design cues from Vietnams industrial history and features huge ceilings and windows that provide plenty of natural light.
Stay tuned for more pics from our factory visits over October.

Chopped Weekend
Apart from being well known as an exceptional vintage and collectable hotspot, Castlemaine is also the self proclaimed HotRod centre of Australia with many small businesses catering to this popular form of motor sport at a national level. We happened to be lucky enough to be in the area for the annual ‘Chopped’ weekend. Held just out 15 minutes of town at the site of a dilapidated trotters track in Newstead the event is was definitely a unique experience. Over the last decade there has been a noticeable re emergence of the greaser culture of the 50s’ and 60′s which includes a new breed of traditional hot rod builders, artists and styles, as well as classic style car clubs. The chopped weekend seemed proof that this contemporary movement of times past was definitely alive and kicking. With an old school paddock dragstrip, a host of rockin bands and a fully blown tiki bar complete with firing totem pole the event was like stepping back in time. Enjoy!
