SIMPLE SKILLS
WORKSHOPS MADE SIMPLE
Remember when addiction used to be fun? Back when it was all booze, drugs and gambling. Now it’s mostly computer screens and bloody smartphones draining our souls. Time to put the devices down and get your hands dirty learning an honest skill. Or even just take a break and watch a craftsman do their thing.
IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME
From brewing beer to welding a bike frame, Simple Skills is a monthly series of casual workshops where you can hang out with likeminded folk, share a beer, and learn something practical from an expert. You know, like humans used to do before the internet.
Kicking things off with an intro to welding and furniture design, the first Simple Skills was sold out before the doors even opened at the Department of Simple Things in Byron.
Inside, the gang of lucky ticket holders were greeted with cold beers from Balter, hot salami from Salumi, and all the welding info they could chew on, thanks to Evan Roberts from Salt x Steel.
Interested in learning how to make salami with Michael Dlask, a founder of Salumi? Better get in early for Simple Skills #2 (May 25th at the Department of Simple Things, Byron) because there’s only 30 tickets. BUY A TICKET >
