Colour: Linen Houndstooth
Houndstooth started as a woven wool check in 19th-century Scotland. Over the next century it moved into tailoring around the world. In a climate like Australia's, the challenge was always keeping the look of tailoring without the weight.
The Brooklyn in houndstooth is cut from a linen and cotton suiting. It keeps the same pleated silhouette as the plaid version, with room through the thigh and a taper to the ankle. The pattern gives it a different personality. It's more graphic and more deliberate. At this scale, the black and white check reads almost as texture from a distance, and you only see the pattern up close.
Linen keeps it breathable and cool against the skin. Cotton softens the feel and takes the edge off linen's natural creasing.
