Inspired by the Hawaiian aloha shirt, 1940s–1960s.
The aloha shirt travelled far from Hawaii. By the 1950s it had found its way into Australian summer culture — worn on Queensland holidays, at the beach, at the barbecue. Relaxed, printed, unapologetically casual.
The Mahalo Short Sleeve Shirt reinterprets that tradition in 100% linen, screen printed on the inside. Printing on the reverse of the fabric lets the design bleed through to the face with a faded, worn-in quality — closer to a vintage find than a new shirt. The print itself draws from Pacific maritime imagery: sailing ships, palm trees, pineapples, hibiscus, seahorses.
Lightweight at 155gsm, camp collar, single chest pocket, corozo buttons.
