Nine years ago in a little store (The Lab) on Brunswick St, Mr. Simple was born. In amongst the noise of graphic tees and what seemed like a kitsch era of fashion, we set out to create a timeless range of classics.
The understated t-shirt was our starting point. The goal? Create a solid garment that fits true to size. Our initial colour palette was simple, black, white and navy. In recent times, we've experimented with washes, fabrications and added in an array of seasonal colours.
This season we introduced a long sleeve tee to our classics program. A great alternative to a basic tee in the colder months. Introducing textured fabrications such as the waffle jersey in the Flint and knitted fabrics in the Hendrick add a subtle level of detail to our classic long sleeves.
As the cold chill of a Melbourne winter set in, we approached our next category, hoodies, and crewneck sweats with a simple goal in mind, quality heavy-weight fabrics combined with contemporary fits. The end result was great layering pieces that serve an important purpose, to keep you warm.
Our next challenge was a good chino pant, one that would feel at home skating down the road or stepping into a job interview. We focused on getting the two essentials right, fabric and fit. Through that time our classic slim fitting chino pant was born, The Maxwell.
The best thing with classics, is they are timeless. Easily paired with a bold floral yardage or combined together for a color blocked outfit. Make your next wardrobe investment into a solid range of classics. They will make piecing together your next outfit out just that little bit easier.
